ORANGE COUNTY ARTIST OF THE YEAR
Semi-Finalist Presentation Artworks
KEY CHAIN FONT
Medium: Adobe Illustrator

This is a font that I designed. It is inspired by the links of a key chain. While creating this font, I kept two things in mind: legibility and resemblance to the links.
GLOWING FISH ILLUSTRATION
Medium: Adobe Illustrator

I drew this illustration during a twenty day personal art challenge. My goal was to improve my illustration skills. For this artwork in particular, I wanted to set up a story where a fish is emerging from a patch of coral.
AN OLD HOUSE POSTCARD
Medium: cardstock paper

Shortly after my relatives sold a house that I was really attached to, I designed this postcard to depict the house as a memory. The shapes that I chose and the composition that I created was designed to connect to the idea that I could recognize the house if I saw it, but it would be harder to describe it exactly. This artwork also became a keystone in my AP 2-D Art and Design portfolio because it inspired me to continue looking at architecture to create abstract designs.
WINDOWS OF GOTHIC ARCHITECTURE
Medium: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

I designed this poster while working on my AP portfolio. Gothic architecture is a style that I had not worked with before, so I wanted to experiment with applying what I had learned to it. This poster was designed with the idea of highlighting the interesting shapes of the windows in mind.
PASTEL ALLEY POSTCARD
Medium: cardstock paper

This is the final piece of my AP portfolio. My goal for this artwork was to find a way to integrate typography in an interesting way.
